How do I make a diamond painting with my own photo?

Creating a diamond painting with your own photo is very easy: with the Painting by Numbers Expert diamond painting generator you can convert your photo into an extremely detailed design. You can choose from 12 sizes, from 20× 30cm to 50×70cm, with 25 to 40 colours in round or square stones.

Although 20×30cm is ideal for smaller designs, we also recommend choosing a size from 30×40cm or 40×50cm. Larger sizes ensure that the details of your photo become more visible and the end result looks even more impressive.

Step 1: Choose the desired format. The size of your photo is important. Do you have a square photo? For example, choose 40×40cm instead of 40×60cm. The sharper the photo, the better the quality of your diamond painting!

A matching frame is also available for the sizes 40×50cm and 50×65cm – useful if you want to hang the diamond painting.

Step 2: Upload your photo via the 'Upload photo/image'.
Do you want the photo printed in portrait or landscape orientation? Then use the Trimming tool to easily choose whether your image will be cropped in height or width. The tool will appear while uploading your photo.

Step 3: Choose the type of stones: round or square rhinestones.
Round stones are easier to place, because you do not have to press them exactly against each other. Square stones fit tightly and provide a more detailed end result. We recommend round stones for beginners and square stones for advanced or ambitious starters.

Step 4: Click on 'In my shopping cart', complete your order and enter your address details.

1. Canvas size
   First decide how large you want to make the diamond painting. A popular size is 50 x 50 centimeters. Keep in mind that you need a square photo for this, or that you must be able to make it square. And is it a photo that is not square? Then choose, for example, 50 x 30 or one of the other dimensions. Of course, keep in mind that the photo must be sharp enough so that you can paint it in good quality.
2. Upload your photo
   Are you happy with the format you chose and does it suit the quality and dimensions of the photo? Then it is time to upload the photo. You deliverthe photo online by choosing 'Choose file' when diamond painting with your own photo. Browse through the files on the computer to indicate which photo you would like to use. Make sure you select the correct photo, as unfortunately you cannot change this later.

1. Boxes with the numbers
   The canvas you receive from us contains boxes containing numbers. Those numbers correspond to numbers on the different colours of stones. This way you ensure that you can paint easily, simply by coloring the boxes with the stones intended for this purpose. Of course you decide which numbers and which boxes you start with. In that respect, you have complete freedom to diamond paint as you wish, for example by doing the large boxes first or starting with the lowest number.
2. Colour by colour
   However you go about it, it is wise to cover the canvas with thepaint your own photo colour by colour.
3. Diamond paint your own photo after
   You can paint your own photo on the canvas with the different boxes and the coloured stones based on the numbers. You do this step by step and of course at your own pace, so you can take as long as you want. Take your time so that you can work on the photo you want to paint in a fun and creative way.
