5 Tips: Which format should I choose when Paint by Numbers?

Which format should I choose when Paint by Numbers?

A frequently asked question: "Which format should I choose?"

Something experienced customers know: sometimes bigger is better when it comes to canvas sizes. This may not be good news for those new to the business. Smaller paint-by-numbers are less expensive and may make more sense if you're just getting started with Paint by Numbers.

But it is important to be realisticto have expectations. If you have a small Paint by Numbers, know that it will not look as detailed or realistic as a larger Paint by Numbers

We explain why and how to choose the best size for your next Paint by Numbers.

A larger Paint by Numbers makes the difference

This Paint by Numbers Below is an example of a small Paint by Numbers (40x50cm):

You can see there's a lot of colour variation, but overall there's not as much detail as, say, a face. It's impressionistic, not realistic.

What would happen if we Paint by Numbers print on a larger size canvas (50x70cm)? We would just get more detail in the Paint by Numbers

As you can see, with the smaller one Paint by Numbers lost a lot of detail. It is less accurate.

Now you can see why it might be smarter to use a larger Paint by Numbers to purchase. Especially if you like a design with a lot of detail.

Does this mean I don't have a small Paint by Numbers can choose?

We definitely recommend that you use a large Paint by Numbers to try. So that all the details in your Paint by Numbers are visible. Especially if you are serious about your artwork.

But there are reasons why you might have a little Paint by Numbers want:

  • You're just starting out and you're not ready for something big yet
  • You need to make something quickly, for example as a gift or present
  • It is for a child or someone who is unableis to make a big Paint by Numbers to complete
  • You have a small space in your house that you want to decorate

Don't worry! A small Paint by Numbers can be perfect. You just have to know how to choose.

Look for bold, simple designs that are abstract or impressionistic. Paint by Numbers with a simple design and a limited number of colours are ideal for smaller paintings.
