How to make a mermaid necklace?

Maybe you haveluck and collected shells that already had holes in them. If you don't have this, don't panic! However, you can easily drill holes in the shells yourself with a hand drill. You can buy such a set for about 10 euros at any DIY store.

Then paint the shell. Our advice is to start at the narrow end with pink. Then you can paint the colours in the order of purple, turquoise and green on the thicker end, making them blend into each other.

Then sprinkle white glitter on one of the shells. On the other shell, sprinkle coloured glitter over the appropriate colour. (So on the pink part you put pink glitter, on the purple part purple glitter, etc.) This way, you will have a more pastel coloured shell and a shell with stronger colours.

Once everything is dry, you can seal your shells with acrylic varnish. This way you don't have glitter on your fingers or clothes all the time. You can also use transparent nail polish. Now let the shells dry thoroughly.

Also fun to do: Paint by Numbers: Youpaints the boxes with the supplied acrylic paint. You can choose from many motifs, such as animals and cities.

If you want, you can decorate your shells with glitter stones at the end. You can apply glue directly to the shell and then place the small glitter stones on top using a skewer (moisten the tip of the skewer slightly with water, so that the glitter stones will stick to it and can easily be placed on the shell). You can use decorative stones from the drugstore for the fingernails, but you can also find them in any craft department.
